This unit (previously known as HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation) describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a person (infant, child and adult) who is unresponsive and not breathing until the arrival of medical support and subsequent transfer to hospital.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty including CPR to an ill and/or injured person, to coordinate first aid until the arrival of medical assistance such as an ambulance and effectively communicate and document the incident.
Support workers will learn about safe work practices including the use of personal hygiene practices and equipment, management of a needle stick injury, management of blood and body fluid spills and the safe disposal of syringes and contaminated waste.
This short course provides information on strategies to increase staff confidence and knowledge when supporting people who require meal assistance via Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG). The workshop incorporates practical demonstrations. Students completing this course will be given generalised knowledge on meal assistance via PEG, however, specific training may be necessary to meet the needs of individual support plans.
This program explores the benefits of self-leadership to thrive in an organisation, by supporting people living with dementia, in partnership with families and staff. The four learning modules included in this program cover self-leadership, communication, trust and stress management.
