This microcredential provides support workers with essential knowledge and skills to assist participants with their High Intensity Support Daily Activity (HIDPA) relating to complex bowel care. Support workers learn how to assist participants with their bowel elimination needs and safely administer suppositories or enemas to assist evacuation where necessary. The training explores different oral laxatives and how they work within the gastrointestinal system. The training is competency based and consistent with the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor for Complex Bowel Care.

This wound care microcredential aims to provide support workers with the essential skills and knowledge regarding different types of wounds. Students will learn about the risk factors associated with pressure injury development, the classification stages of pressure injuries, common strategies to prevent pressure injury development and how to manage pressure injuries. This course is consistent with the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor for Complex Wound Care Support.

This course meets the needs of disability employment professionals working within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or any disability employment professional looking to deliver authentic person-centred employment support.
