Complex Bowel Care – Enema and Suppository Administration
This microcredential provides support workers with essential knowledge and skills to assist participants with their High Intensity Support Daily Activity (HIDPA) relating to complex bowel care. Support workers learn how to assist participants with their bowel elimination needs and safely administer suppositories or enemas to assist evacuation where necessary. The training explores different oral laxatives and how they work within the gastrointestinal system. The training is competency based and consistent with the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptor for Complex Bowel Care.
