This program creates a space where disability support workers can think about what social inclusion means for people with intellectual disability, and learn or refresh some useful tools and strategies to support people with intellectual disability in ways that will promote their social inclusion.
Communication is key! This module introduces a range of strategies Support Workers can use to support people to express themselves. It outlines common communication aids and how to support someone to share their feedback or make a complaint.
This document provides an overview and general information on trauma and attachment in people with intellectual disability.
This course will help you become conscious of good support practices while also recognising when you may be using poor practices. They will also help you understand types of abuse and control and how to recognise any instances of abuse. Throughout the course, you will also realise how important it is to promote the rights of people with disability and ensure they have the freedom to exercise their rights.
