This module, which has been designed specifically for Support Workers, will assist you in understanding your role in identifying and managing risk at the frontline. This module takes a positive approach to risk and is designed in an NDIS context. It explores the legal obligations and the NDIS Commission's requirements (including elements of the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework) that need to be considered alongside your organisation's risk framework.
Many Support Coordinators struggle to define the boundaries of their role in the lives of the people they support. This module will provide you with practical tips for setting professional and effective boundaries and, importantly, holding those boundaries.
Under the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators, workers must receive appropriate training if they are involved in the management of waste and hazardous substances. This course has been written with this Practice Standard in mind, exploring how to safely handle waste and hazardous products. There has never been a more important time to get this practice right.
This two (2) day (7 hours total) training will assist workers to identify symptoms of compassion fatigue, burnout, vicarious trauma, and secondary traumatic stress and to enable them to utilise tools and strategies to prevent and manage compassion fatigue, burnout, vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress.
