This online learning resource is about support for decision making. It will present the first evidence-based framework to guide you through the process of supporting people with cognitive disabilities to make decisions.
Developed and distributed on behalf of the NSW Public Guardian, this course introduces the Supported Decision Making Practice Framework and discusses in detail the various elements of the framework. It aims to promote consistent best practice in supported decision-making using examples and practical scenarios.
This module introduces Support Workers to some of the fundamentals of the NDIS, including the human rights framework and important concepts such as ‘person centred care’, ‘dignity of risk’ and ‘informed consent’. It provides strategies to support decision making, as well as how the NDIS Code of Conduct applies to choice and control.
Deliver person-centered and affirmative support to LGBTIQA+ people with disability. Gender and sexuality are important aspects of identity which influence our social relationships, wellbeing, and experiences of discrimination.
