This short course provides information on strategies to increase staff confidence and knowledge when supporting people who require meal assistance via Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG). The workshop incorporates practical demonstrations. Students completing this course will be given generalised knowledge on meal assistance via PEG, however, specific training may be necessary to meet the needs of individual support plans.
Incontinence can have a significant negative effect on a participant’s quality of life. Impacts might include body image, self-esteem and mental health. The condom catheter provides a solution to incontinence enabling a participant to feel comfortable while out in the community or at home. This course covers all the basic knowledge to assist you in performing all condom catheter application, drainage and removal tasks including: * Reasons for condom drainage * Correct application of condom catheter * How and when to remove sheath * Effective use of products involved in application and removal of the catheter
This training module teaches you how to use a ceiling hoist to safely and comfortably move a client from a bed to a wheelchair, and from a wheelchair to a bed. This module provides comprehensive training to guide you through all the necessary steps to hoist your client safely and correctly. The course will also assess your understanding of the training material once you have completed the video.
