Provides information to support workers to effectively assist individuals with their daily management of diabetes. Students will learn how to check and record blood sugar levels and will learn strategies to manage a person with diabetes in an emergency situation. Students will also be able to identify the different types of diabetes, causes and symptoms.
This microcredential develops the knowledge to understand the types of diabetes and their medical management. Common diabetic emergencies, medications, complications of diabetes and strategies for management of diabetes including lifestyle measures are discussed. Participants will practice and demonstrate the skill of blood glucose testing and recording. The training is competency based.
The Disability Induction Program prepares people to work in the disability sector by introducing them to and encouraging a person-centred approach. The tools within the program explain and demonstrate the need and practicalities of placing the person with disability at the centre of all decision-making and operational activities.
Disability Safe is a comprehensive and applied program consisting of eight individual e-learning modules. The program has been designed to enhance the quality of disability services through safe work practices. It focuses on developing and expanding knowledge and understanding, in creating and participating in safe workplace environments.
