Have your say on disability worker registration standards in Victoria.

The Disability Worker Regulation Scheme includes voluntary disability worker registration in Victoria. This involves the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria setting registration standards for registered Victorian disability workers and registering Victorian disability workers.

Disability worker registration aims to increase safeguards across the entire disability community by improving the quality and safety of disability services. The Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria is responsible for setting registration standards, assessing skills, experience and suitability for registration and registering disability workers that meet set standards for registration.

Consultation purpose

The Board and the Commission are consulting to review the disability worker registration standards set when disability worker registration commenced in 2021. We seek your feedback on proposed revisions to the standards to ensure they function effectively. The three standards under review are:

  • Criminal history
  • English language requirements
  • Continuing professional development (also known as CPD)
