Registered workers need to renew their registration each year. Renewal is now open and closes on 30 September.

Your registration will lapse if you do not renew, and you will need to reapply for registration.

You need to provide the below information in your renewal application. Please click through the headings to read more.

  • Confirm the email address used for your original registration, as well as your name and date of birth.
  • Confirm that details of your registration division and type are correct.
  • Update your phone number and home address if required.
  • Update us about any impairments that may affect your ability to safely provide disability services.
  • Provide details of your current disability work, including the suburb and postcode of the workplace you work at the most.
  • Confirm your principal place of practice. This is the workplace where you work the most and cannot be the residential address of a client with disability. If you don't work from one main address, please use your own home address.
  • Provide details of any continuing professional development (CPD) you have done in the last year.
  • Registered workers need to complete 10 hours of relevant CPD to renew their registration. If you have questions about CPD please contact us at registration@vdwc.vic.gov.au
  • You can read more about CPD here.
  • Tell us if you have insurance relevant to your work in the disability sector. It is not a mandatory requirement to have insurance to be registered.
  • This information is to inform future registration standards, but it won’t affect your current application.
  • Tell us if you have had any changes in your criminal history. If you answer yes, you will be asked for more details and any relevant documents.
  • Tell us if any notifications or complaints have been made about you to professional regulators in the last year.
  • Update us on any existing conditions on your registration.

Rights and responsibilities

While waiting for the outcome of your renewal application the same rights and responsibilities that come with being registered continue to apply. More information about these ongoing obligations can be found here.
